I've finally gotten back into the studio today! Yay! I've finished a Christmas card with a glittery silver snowflake you can remove and put on your tree or on a package. I will post a picture tomorrow when the lighting is better.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! Hope all of you enjoy your day with
your family and friends - whoever you spend the day with. I also hope you enjoy whatever meal you are sharing. Since my daughter is vegan and I am a carnivore . . .um. . I mean meat eater, we will not be having Turkey. Actually the irony is she will be having a simulation of Turkey - Tofurkey with stuffing and I will be having a Steak! We will though, share an acorn squash and maybe a salad. What is important though is that we will be together and I am most thankful for that! Yesterday we had a Thanksgiving meal for our clients and it was both sad and wonderful to be able to share that with them. They were all grateful for our staff members and one man said he was glad to be alive. We had to dole out the food to make sure their was enough for everyone but not one person complained about not getting a bigger portion. (staff brought their own lunches and ate before hand) I was able to use some of the decorations from the conference to decorate the tables. We put the clients names in a box and those chosen got to take either a pumpkin or decorative corn home. Since we are a Mental Health Care agency, the dinner had to be in a therapeutic format. My new co-worker made a paper cornucopia and I made paper vegetables and fruit for them to cut out, color, put what they were grateful for and then place on the cornucopia. I believe this was probably one of the best meals these folks have had for a long time! Good morning everyone! We had our first snowfall yesterday and my daughter and I decided to go out in the magical environment and videotape (her video actually) the beauty of the moment..... It now feels like Christmas season. So it seems like an appropriate time to start thinking of sending those Christmas cards and purchasing gifts and ornaments. I have thought long and carefully about doing a show this year and have decided to pass. Now please don't freak out. I will still take your orders and make beautiful items for you. I just won't be making things in mass volumes. Instead if you will please look through my galleries and order from the designs you see or if you would like something different please don't hesitate to contact me and I will work with you to create something more to your liking. If you look at my blog on October 12th, you will see that I have added a recyclable option this year. I am also open to other ideas from you as well so please feel free to leave comments or go to my contact page to let me know what's on your mind.
Hi Everyone; Sorry I have not updated in so long....I have been very busy with getting the centerpieces done for the upcoming conference which was Thursday. A very important colleague passed away and I did make a sympathy card for his family, but I did not take a picture of it because it seemed inappropriate. Anyway I have also done some artwork for the conference - a "Zentangle inspired" picture. I learned that Zentangle is a registered trademark and it is a very specific method. I have never done something like this before and found it to be very relaxing and fun. I highly recommend this method for it's wide application. As a Recovery Support Specialist - I believe it to help with relieving anxiety and to help with focusing. I will post a picture later this weekend. The conference went very well - the speakers were very inspiring! I learned a lot, but mostly I felt more passionate about my job!
